This comes after weeks of rumours, and fans pointing out that 2014 marked the 10th anniversary of one of the band’s biggest albums, The Curse.
Since going on hiatus in 2011, Atreyu fans have been left dismayed, and hoping for a reunion.
“The time has come,” says drummer Brandon Saller. “We have been spending the last few months planning this moment. Writing new music and thinking about the future while also reflecting on the past. We all came to the conclusion that it was the right time. Our history is too powerful to ignore forever. Our fans have given us too much. The void of Atreyu, in the world and within ourselves, had existed for long enough. We are happy to announce that after almost 4 years, the beast has risen!
Check out their statement below:
“Atreyu is pleased to announce we are making new music together and have plans to resume playing live again, starting with our main stage appearance at Aftershock on Sunday September 14th, 2014.
This is for the fans, this is for us, and this is for the music.
LONG LIVE ATREYU“
