The band played in the Ukraine on Wednesday (March 12), when Jared spoke out in support of the protestors.
Leto told the crowd “I know it may be difficult but there’s no price too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.”
“I understand other bands have cancelled their shows, but there was no fucking way, no fucking way, 30 Seconds To Mars wasn’t going to be here in this beautiful city, in this great country tonight.”
The following day Leto visited a memorial to those who died in clashes with police last month in Kiev.
The frontman also spoke out about the Ukraine situation while accepting his Oscar last month.
He said “to all the dreamers out there around the world watching this tonight in places like Ukraine and Venezuela, I want to say we are here, as you struggle to make your dreams happen and live the impossible, we are thinking of you tonight.”
