Crossfaith – APOCALYZE ★★★★☆

image001 (1)Japanese sci-fi metallers Crossfaith let ferocious new album APOCALYZE loose today! Produced by the legendary Machine (Every Time I Die, Lamb of God), and already landing them the honour of  The Guardian’s “New Band of The Day”, Crossfaith definitely have nothing to prove now.

Opening track “We Are The Future” is literal; a hybrid of the Prodigy and Pantera, or Slipknot and Skrillex, dubstep pulses and synth crossing over seamlessly with emphatic screams and Enter Shikari-esque fast-paced energy.

“Hounds Of Apocalypse” screams goth trance, mixed with a little bit of hardcore to make the perfect metal potion.

“Eclipse” sounds like an eerie alien landing, with their call to arms; “drop the beat”.

Stand-out track “Counting Stars” opens with haunting violins masking a bubbling beat underneath, breaking forth to dominate your ears with monstrous drums.

Just when and who decided to fuse metal and dubstep has been lost in history, but in the case of Crossfaith; than fuck someone did.Melodies abound, Japan’s metal & electro mash-up masters are going to rule.

Apocalyze is out now via Search & Destroy Records. Check out the tracklisting at the bottom of this story!
